Proud Moment

This week our class was responsible for leading the all school mass. We practiced Monday and Tuesday and we were all ready to go on Wednesday!

The students did a great job! I received nothing but positivity regarding their leadership!

I am so proud of them! I sure am glad they are so helpful and considerate when realizing that this was the first time I was leading a mass!

This is going to be a year full of "firsts" and I am so excited to continue this journey with them! We have been doing a wonderful job so far, and will continue to do so!

Hello Everyone!

I am really trying to be better about posting on my blog this year!

In the past couple weeks, we have been getting into the swing of things and finally mastering a routine.

September 7th was Outdoor Classroom Day! Thousands of schools all over the world participated this year. The 6th graders and their Kindergarten prayer partners completed activities outside as a way to jump out of the textbook and take learning outside the classroom. We went for a nature walk and played team building games.

Here are a few pictures of our fun day!

We did it! We made it through our first week of school!

This week consisted of various ice breaker games to allow me to meet each of my students as well as build a solid classroom community. The students learned about my expectations and ways we can improve our classroom.

We also started a little bit of curriculum in English, Religion, and Social Studies. We will be getting into deeper information this coming up week.

I am looking forward to beginning week 2! Remember, WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!

Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year

Hello St. Cyprian Families!

I hope you are all enjoying your summer so far! The school year is quickly approaching!

My name is Jackie Gervais and I am thrilled to have received the opportunity to be your student’s Language Arts teacher this year!

This will be my first year of teaching and I am very excited to be a part of St. Cyprian School. I graduated in December from Northeastern Illinois University with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education, a minor in Linguistics, and an endorsement to teach Language Arts at the middle school level.

Our classroom will support an education where all your students are treated as unique individuals and prepared for success in their future.

We are getting closer to another great school year and I can’t wait to meet you all! Enjoy the rest of your summer!

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me!

Sincerely,

Miss Gervais
